A typical school day

Our day seems to start off in a mad rush trying to do the basics of getting up, getting dressed, breakfast, brush teeth, pack lunch, and and and

The biggest stress of our day is getting out the door before the bus comes.  They changes Jaime's bus driver this year so if we not visible, the bus just drives by.  Technically they are supposed to stop at every house for at least a second.  Our driver doesn't even slow down!  Very annoying.

Another change to the schedule is the pick up time, last year 8;00  this year 8:10/8:15.  So now getting to work on time is a challenge.

To beat the stress we hang in the car at the end of the driveway.  This is a good day, usually we running down the driveway flagging the bus down lol

Jaime then goes to school from 8:50 - 2:50 he then goes to the YMCA after care till 5/5:30.  Mateo, goes to a home daycare from 8:30 - 5.  He has settled in so well and loves being at Ms Karen.

We then get home, cook dinner, do homework...yes homework.  First grade and we have homework.  It normally involves reading and a 2 page maths worksheet.

So I have to admit we finding the maths a tiny bit challenging, I'm referring to myself here.  Firstly I don't understand the questions most of the time like "determine the addins" ja that means determine the answer.  I also find it hard determining when to draw and cross out, the colours drive me nuts and sometimes you should write it all out others not.  Its the simple things people.  The funny thing is Jaime writes down the answer before doing all the mechanics.  Needles to say I wont partaking in the show "are you smarter than a first grader!"

At the moment we have soccer on a Monday, Wednesday & Sunday, swimming on a Saturday and catequese (faith formation) on a Thursday.  Life is a little crazy!   

Alzeihmers walk

As a September send off we did a walk for Alzheimers - just a 5 km but right along the water at the beautiful Fort Taber. What a beautiful day for a walk.

 New shed!  His colours are changing each shed.  he now has more red/brown and around his face some citrus is showing.  These colours are valued highly in the bearded dragon world.  So we scored with this little guy!

First time meeting the teacher, Ms Alexander.  Not sure I'm a fan.  She's a little on the older side and pretty old school (no pun intended).  Jaime seems to like her  so we'll see.
