Palminhas

Yip thats right Jaime now does palminhas..ok ok when he wants to do palminhas! Im now working on clapping hands to happy birthday and lifting his arms at the end (yeah). He does it during private shows with mom but as soon as we introduce a crowd the finger is in the mouth and the bashful Jaime appears ;-) we'll get it on video I promise!

Gabriel's 3rd birthday

Mr popular spent another weekend partying...this weekend was Gabriel's turn. He turned the ripe old age of 3! You'll see that my cuz Augie is holding onto Jaime...he developed a sudden liking into Augie and quite preferred he company for the day (maybe its the hair ???)

But old Rafael was dropped like a hot potato the minute a sexy girl was around. I tell you he is going to be such a player when he is older - there goes all my ideas of growing a nerd who plays chess all day!

Dr Kelly the follow up

On Friday (17th) we visited Dr Kelly for our follow up appointment.

What a morning after both Jaime and I oversleeping we rushed around like headless chickens getting ready in order to leave and meet our 10am appointment with Dr Kelly. Lol now that Jaime is sleeping through Im really enjoying my sleep!

Ok so we were 20min late but with Jaime dishing out coy smiles and winks neither Dr Kelly nor the receptionist seems to perturbed ...sho! So after a good head rub Dr Kelly seemed very happy. Said the bones have healed phenomenally well and that the only thing you can feel now is the plates - the bone will eventually grow over. He said the eyebrow will still lift some more making his eyes more symmetrical. The back is looking good and not as bad as expected but we'll go back again in 3mths to assess the back again.

All in all a good result!

First Easter. First Easter Egg. First taste of easter chocolate!

Easter 2009 Jaime's first easter! We, Ili Jaime and myself spent a solemn Good Friday with my Mom and Dad, Ant Yvette and the kids and my mom's house. Lunch was filled with yummy fishy goodness!

Easter Saturday the day all the festivities began! To set the scene we started off admiring the pole my dad put up in the back yard for lighting,now when I tell

you this pole is huge it really is - it is so huge it puts the flood lights at wanderers stadium to shame. This is where my Jaime had his first real taste of Easter. It all began with a laugh and giggle ie "what will Jaime do"...well let me tell you the icing on those hard white Easter eggs was worn thin within minutes. The boy didn't know what hit him his taste buds were flying high amongst the sugar.

Fatherly love... (actually this is quite routine for the Jardim family) we call it the camel lick! lucky for Jaime the camel lick is reserved just for the hands.

the only one old enough to hunt we made him hunt

for everyones eggs ha ha hey he enjoyed it!

Especially when he found his gift from Avo...the beenies and gloves. Tiago got Ben 10 and the boys got cars.

Easter Sunday was spent with the Jardim family. The day was spent rolling on the carpet enjoying the music and getting showered with attention from cuz Monica.

During the day while all the adults were conversing Mr jaime did a James Bond stunt...





"ooh an Easter egg in my vicinity poor little egg left alone on this big wide carpet..."

Go go go...it wont come to me I'll go to it...got it!

A little while later ....Jaime did you have chocolate?

"no mom I promise mom I did't Im innocent I swear it!" mmmm I can see my Jaime is gonna be the kid at the party table scoffing the sweets while the rest of the kids play outside ha ha ha

Our Easter was filled with love and family we hope that your easter was just the same.

Jaime turns 11 months!

Jaime turned 11 months this week Tuesday. My big boy is going to be 1 soon...OMG!

What a weekend!

Jaime has had such a weekend! Friday we had moms and babes where Jaime got to play with his mates Francois and Angelique. After a ruff session of dancing,singing and tummy time we had some messy play out in the garden. Now normally Jaime is more than willing to stick his hand in bowls and feel things (especially while I'm feeding him), but on Friday during messy play Mr Jaime decided this was def not for him and sat there staring at the yogurt and sago pudding like it was fresh water to the witch of Eastwick.

Friday afternoon was spent with Jaime's girlfriend Gabby. The two spent the afternoon banging on toys, the table, each other and they even decided it was cool to swop dummies!

Sunday was the day for parties! We spent the morning with Eva at her 1st birthday

And the afternoon was spent with Jarrod at his 3rd birthday.

Needless to say Jaime passed out Sunday night at 5:30pm - without giving me the opportunity to give him a bath, change of clothes or even give him dinner...poor boy ;-)

A day at the Duarte farm

While mom went running Mr Jaime went to spend the morning with Avo and Avo at the Duarte Farm. Much to my surprise my dad had bought a jungle gym for all the Duarte monsters.

My dad then surprised me again by introducing his Duarte milk box swing specially made for Jaime, Rafael and Robby. So hell why not we tested it out.... Jaime seemed to enjoy it.

The slide was'nt as welcomed, we were left with no smiles and a dirty bum!

The living and loving baby show

Last Sunday I spent the day at Emporer's palace helping out at the Premmies for Africa stand at the Living and Loving baby show. Basically it involved us premmie moms standing handing out flyers and telling the general public what Premmies for Africa does and how we can help. I must say it was quite shocking to find out that every third person we met was a premmie parent or knew of someone who was prem.

You'll see in the pic, I'm holding a doll wearing a real micro prem nappy. This doll represents a baby born between 24 and 30 weeks weighing between 500g and 1 kg. Scary isn't it! Anneline, on my right, is wearing the micro prem nappy around her neck and I have the premmie (1-2kg) nappy around my neck. I still cant believe that Jaime was that small.

I must admit that it was quite consoling in a way to know that Im not the only one out there going through the premmie steps.

The famous potty

As promised here is the pic of my Jaime using the potty. The potty comes with a history - it was originally purchased in the year 1976 with the birth of my oldest brother Antonio. It has moved on in the family between my other brother Peter and then eventually myself.

After many years of storage it was rediscovered on the birth of my Godchild Tiago. And now the exciting famous potty is being occupied by my Jaime.

The big joke is that it was pure fluke that Jaime did a number 2 on his first time using the potty. Since then its more of a game than actual "use" of the potty.

PS: I did ensure that it was scrubbed down with jik (bleech) before use ;-)

Where we at

My little Jaime has changed and developed so much since the last time I posted...this is whats happened:

- teeth are popping out like popcorn,.. his bottom right, top left and top left eye tooth are all coming out at the same time

- he is now waving "tata" ...when he wants to of course!

- the words "baba" and "mama" exit his little mouth all day long along with a little song which goes " I love my mama, my mama, my mama etc etc etc" its cute

- His eating preferences have gone off veggies and back onto fruit and custard and

- my mother, Jaimes Avo, is potty training him and he is getting quite used the potty ;-) (I'll attach a pic tom)

All in all Jaime is doing super!
