5 teeth

I forgot to mention that Mr smiley has cut his 5th tooth!  Its the top right incisor.

Explains the past week of fussiness and no sleep!

 

Catching up on precious sleep.  Poor kid ain't getting much lately.... and neither are we!

Annual eye exam

Before the summer is over we needed to get all of Jaime' annual checkups ticked off the list.  This Friday was his annual eye check.  So off we go to Boston Children's for the day.

Thankfully its the Friday before labor weekend so traffic was a lot less than normal...*yay*

 

Even though we arrived a good half hour early we still waited...and waited!

 Finally we get called in....

Part 1 done.  Now we go back and wait some more for Jaime's eye to dilate for the Dr to inspect. This took another 40min, but am happy to report that his eyes are perfect!  The muscles are developing perfectly, his sight is spot on and best of all she said, if I wanted, I could skip a year and come back in the second.  Of course I'm not actually going to do that, cause I have to do annual had checks till he turns 10 so getting his eye's checked is just another preventative.  Its just good to know he is developing so well!

Ha ha I had to include these.  Mateo was really playing the camera.  The flash would go on, and he instantaneously would give me that cheesy grin.  So funny my little man!

Day 1 - Riding on the bus

Today is the day, Jaime's first real school day.  The day he leaves our home on his own to start his new adventure.

I could not believe it, he did not even hesitate.  He climbed those stairs with that huge back pack and he sat down in the front seat and did not look back.  Us, the family, standing outside smiling and waving (just like Ms Bacchiachi said) while our little man starts this new chapter in his life.

Happy birthday Daddy!

Ili's fathers day / birthday surprise - a day at the motor speedway experiencing the brutal force speed of a Nascar! 

 

We set off early Wednesday morning all prepped and excited for our 2 hour road trip to New Hampshire Motor speedway.  Thankfully both Jaime and Mateo slept so when we arrived they were bright and chirpy little car crazy munchkins.

Once we were all registered and Ili signed his life away, we went into the conference room so they could randomly teach you how to drive a Nascar safely....*silent giggle*

 

 

Of course Mr Mateo was so excited surrounded by cars and noises that he felt it was necessary to scream in delight every 2 seconds.  Needless to say Ili was very embarrassed and promptly kicked us out!

So Jaime, Mateo and myself went exploring, which was actually way more fun than sitting listening to car talk.

Jaime was smiling from ear to ear - he got o touch a real McQueen car.  And really see up close what it looks like.  And just fyi every detail on the car is a sticker the front lights, grill, etc etc just stickers!  Just like in Cars ;-)

So finally the lesson is over and Ili gets geared up:

Living the dream

There are no doors to the car so rivers have to climb in through the window.  Both Ili and the other guy are screaming at me cause I crossed the "don't cross the yellow line" line..oops ;-)

 And Ili is off, coincidentally in the Lowe's sponsored car:

"..walk like a man.."

 

So how was it I asked, his response "too slow". Ai credo this mans jusht like speed!

And we stop off for lunch at a local restaurant down the road from the speedway.  I was the kinda place you see in the movies where everyone knows everyone and if someone new walks in the place goes silent.  Well it did, the restaurant went completely silent when we walked in and everyone in it stared us down.  Freaky!

 

 

And that was that, we started our trip home bound with another memory, tummies full and a smile on our face.
