First Day at school (Kindergarden)

You know your baby is growing up to fast when its a Tuesday night, you packing lunch, checking and triple checking bags cause your first born is going to school in the morning.  I tell you I was so anxious for Wednesday. I just could not get past the whole dropping your kid off somewhere and not knowing exactly minute by minute what was happening.

Jaime, on the other side of the spectrum, was so excited to go to school.  I bought him a new backpack (ok its a roller bag) all the other backpacks were so big they stretched from his shoulders to below his knees, just could not do that to him.

Check out his grin....

Before we left Jaime was running up and down the corridor with his bag, then waiting at the entrace and screaming "lets go guys"

The playschool is about 15min away from home.  Its a brand new school, just opened this year.  This I like, as the classes are small - between 4-7 kids.

Jaime rushing to the gate.  This is actually a Day 2 pic but I wanted to show the entrance)

Jaime standing next to his locker.  Its the bottom left locker - the train.  I was very excited that the options were lion and train - his two favourite things!

Jaime loved the first day - they did messy play with spaghetti and tomato sauce.  I mean pasta is his thing, so he seriously enjoyed this.  Apparently he was screaming & laughing all while shoveling the pasta into his mouth LOL
Pulling his back out to go home

Day 1 pick up resulted in huge crocodile tears - I think this was all brought on by the need of some food and sleep.  Day 2 pick up was the complete opposite - I had to beg him to leave!  Apparently he already has a mate called Jasmine whom he bosses around all day ha ha ha

I really hope Jaime continues to enjoy play school as I think he will learn alot, make some more friends and I get 3 hours a day to work.

2011 starts off with a bang

2011 has started off with a huge bang - little sprinkle of what the year will bring!

Firstly Jaime has figured out that not only can the toilet paper roll but it can roll out pretty far ...even into the room next door!

The second thing to happen, is Jaime learning or rather realising that he can climb the burglas bars on the windows.  Therefore using the bars as stairs and climbing till he reaches the top of the window frame.  The window frame is about 2m high!

The third thing is learning how to ride his bike.  He doesnt ride it the conventional way ie pushing in full cycles, as his legs are still too short.  So he pushes the pedal as far down as he can, then "reverses" the pedal back to starting point, to push again on the same foot.  He moves around the room pretty quickly - pretty cool for a first timer!.

Thie video was taken a mere 2 hours after grasping the concept - my boy!
Tomorrow is Jaime"s first day at play school - eeiicckk for mom!
