The height of the Snow Storm

I thought I'd try and share our first snow storm with you.  The pics are meant to be progress pics so keep an eye out on the banister as well as the Man Truck.

This morning: 9am

Late morning: 11am

Early Afternoon:2pm

The snow on the back cover is almost at the cabin roof level

Mid Afternoon: 3pm
we just couldn't keep Mr Jaime inside any longer

Flashing off his measuring stake

Stepping off the deck into a sea of snow

The front yard

The front steps are completely covered
The snow kept falling on my lens so the pics are a little blurry.

Why not a walk to the beach

Standing on what was the beach

The ocean...very different to a few weeks ago

Looking back at the houses

Snow angel

Back in the back yard

Measuring the snow on the banister

Cleaning the banister

Forgetting about the stairs and baling down them...still laughing!

How much snow did we get?  Think about 10" the very bottom of the snow man is 7"
The snow man is completely covered

What next....build a snowman of course!

Packing on the snow
And TAAH DAAH...

Look how proud he looks
"Wait Mom, it's missing something"

His hat of course

Finished product!

Ok ok its just his head.  Building a snowman is harder than it looks.  The snow is all soft, just like icing sugar, so packing it to make a snowman takes some skill - which we will master before the end of winter.

Looking forward to tomorrow - weather forecast is sunny skies and warmer weather.  So we get to play outside all day!
