Mr Mc Rib

Home made smoked barbeque ribs... yummylishious!!!

Saturday suprises

Our carrot yield...they not very big, nor are they many but they are 100% organic

We have a new visitor in the house...can you spot him?
He lives on carrot leaves and celery.
Hopefully in a few weeks he'll turn into a beautiful butterfly!  Will keep you all posted

Mr Mateo has learnt how to open the cupboard dig through it, close the door and bang it to.

What I found next to my bed this morning

What we found in the kitchen later

Jaime in the blue shirt on the very left.
He is really loving soccer this year.  If anything I'd say he has nominated himself team captain - he selects who throws the ball in when out of bounds, he selects who should be in goals and where people should position themselves etc its very cute and he does it with such charm.  Pity his coach is lacking the directive skills Jaime has tee hee

This Weeks Round up

Today:  Jaime went off to school with lunch money to buy milk.  I gave him $2, so he could probably buy lunch and other junk too but we testing him ;)

The way school works, is to give them lots of responsibility, straight from the start. It really has affected Jaime, for the better.  He seems to know how things operate and he remembers the rules.  His confidence levels surprise me.  I mean who gives their kid $2 to buy milk and trust that they buy milk and not the tempting chocolate pudding that is always on offer?

The whole concept of school and the bus is beyond me.  Once he gets on that bus I feel like he drives off to the Bermuda triangle and miraculously when I pick him up at aftercare, 9 hours later,  he is disappointed about the fact I'm early vs me sending him off to the yonder alone.  I've also discovered that the integration of older children at after care has been a huge success.  He has learnt how to play Uno, play basketball and football, and apparently he keeps up with the 5/6 graders! This was kinda cool to hear ;-)

So proud of my little man

Phone hijacker

Its been a couple of weeks since I got my new phone, and its been a couple of weeks that I managed to keep Jaime's sticky hands off it.  And it was only a matter of time before he got it:

Figured out how to take self portraits...I have about 20 pics of this naughty face!

And he caught us at our best during the morning rush...
