Groundhog day and Superbowl Sunday

PUNXSUTAWNEY, PA. — Will we have an early spring, or will winter stretch on until mid-March? According to Groundhog Phil, the world's most famous furry forecaster, there are six more weeks of winter ahead this year.
Phil saw his shadow at around 7:25 a.m. this morning in the small town of Punxsutawney, Pa., Sunday, amidst mostly overcast skies and temperatures in the mid-30s. Thousands of revelers showed up for the folksy celebration.

According to legend, if it's cloudy when the groundhog emerges, Phil will leave his burrow, signifying that winter will end soon. If it's sunny out, the groundhog will supposedly see his shadow and, frightened, retreat back into his burrow while winter drags on for six more weeks.

The video is Jaime's Groundhog song.

Today was also Superbowl Sunday...

Our lives in a shambles

So February has slapped us across the face yes already!  We working ridiculous ours, Ili at Lowes and the gym and me in tax season.  Things have been so crazy, completely out or control and incredibly difficult.  Our whole house has been tipped upside down...take a look:

My herbs have died

My lemon verbena, which was growing into a luscious bush is now a long stingy twig

Our vacuum cleaner by the fireplace caught alight.  Thankfully I was home and smelt the smoke.  This was very scary!

The laundry just does not end!

But with all this going we still trying new things:

My first try at ciabatta bread

We sill getting our daily love :

Trying to eat healthy and try new recipes:

We trying to survive the bitter cold: (note the "feels like" temp)

We still trying to meet up with friends and play in the mud

We trying to keep up with reading books and make puzzles

And most importantly we are winning the fight against cabin fever!
