Weekend Round up

Saturday:

As you know we started Sports at the Y and the last 2 weeks have not quite gone as well as expected.  This time round the same bribes were on the table except I added "I'll do it with you".  I also decided to arrive about 20 minutes earlier so that he can get used to the crowds and all the noise. Lucky for us the class before had changed location for the day so we had the gym to mess around in.  There were some random kids messing around too, which I thought would destroy the zen but to my surprise, after the initial 5 minutes, it helped!  So by the time  the coach arrived the noise and crowds were not a problem.  BUT (always the but) the class starts with a game of "fishy fishy".  This is a catchers game where the person in the front "the shark" says "fishy fishy cross my ..." and when he says "ocean" everyone has to run across the gym and the shark chases them.  This completely freaks Jaime out...oh boy.  So we watched from the side lines, not a problem. The coach then moved onto the sport of the day, kick ball.   Jaime after a small bit of motivation joined in - listened to the coach and participated!  yay!! It was good to see him have fun with the other boys.  Maybe next week I'll get to sit on the side and take some pics.

So as he maintained his part of the deal so did I... a new race car for the collection

Lucky Jaime was so excited about his new car he forgot the second part of the deal - dunking donuts ;-)

With Ili at work and Jaime not wanting anything else but his cars I decided to do a treatment.  A keratin treatment.  Its supposed to take the frizz out my hair.  Thought I'd test it out cause tennis ball season (when you have a halo of frizz around your head like a brand new tennis ball from the humidity)  is coming so need some help.

Before

After
Also tried a home made face mask

Its egg white
According to some research its meant to help with tightening of the skin and red spots.  I've been battling with my skin since we arrived so I'm keen to try anything...as you can see.  Tee hee Ili was all disappointed when he found out I was not making his moms 8 ovos (eggs) pudding.

The rest of Saturday was spent at the beach and at home.  Weather is getting warmer so the warm sun and beach sand felt really really good!

Fun filled weekend

One more thing checked off our list - to enroll  Jaime and partake in some activities.
The activity:Sports Mix, an 8 week program that introduces different ball games to little people aged 3-5.
Where: At the Y
How did it go: As per usual Jaime did not respond well to the new class, new teacher and the noise level.  He basically cried the whole class and would not let go of my hand (hence no photos) but BUT there were a couple of instances where he wanted to participate and really wanted to enjoy the moment.  Hoping next week will be better...think I should start the build up on Thursday this week.

Japanese Sushi Bar in the middle of the mall
We then decided to break free from our small town and wonder an hour North to a town called Natick.  The weather was pretty crummy so we enjoyed the view from inside the car and a stroll through the Natick mall.  I know you thinking what on earth? a mall? well here in this small town malls are scarce and Ili and I were in desperate need for some window shopping! And window shopping is all we could afford lol Natick a gorgeous mall with tons of stores and tons of different goodies and things and all our favourite stores...Aldo, Zara, Puma...ahhhh

Yip its naartjie!

Our next "escape" was a stop at IKEA.  You will not believe me when I say IKEA is like Mr Price on steroids!  Its parking lot is bigger than East Rand Mall's covered parking, and was chockers, this excludes the IKEA outside parking which I cannot honestly describe its largeness.  It consist of 2 floors, which you walk through like a maze.  I seriously did not think you could get so much stuff for your house its unbelievable! This place I have to admit was just a little to crowded for us so we moved through the maze at a rapid pace and got out of there as "quick"as we could... for another day (during the week!)

It was good, though, just to walk around, people watch and just to see whats out there and then drive home to our small little bubble and watch movies while the temperature dropped even further outside.

Sunday was chilled and relaxed.  Jaime was extremely good at church today - even the lady sitting behind us complimented him *grin* now I need to buy a Mator for his Easter basket.  Later that afternoon some special time with a cool cuzzie...

Two boys in the house = balls flying everywhere, tackling (never leave your guard down), eating, cars cars and more cars!  We did manage to get both boys to sit down for half hour while watching the Smurfs.. this was a "smurf"-ictory!
